Learn How To Buy The Right Car Or Truck For You!
November 16, 2014
When you think about car shopping, you probably just imagine handing over money for a car. However, there is much more to this process. The article below will show you the ropes. Be sure to properly absorb these tips to make sure you receive the best deal.
Never succumb to the salesperson’s tactics by agreeing to purchase a vehicle priced beyond your budget. Salespeople will try talking you into buying a luxury or a sports car by telling you this car corresponds to your personality. Salesmen earn money on commission, and some salesmen put their own financial gain before your best interests.
Before going to a dealership, know what kind of vehicle you want. You should look it up on the Internet and be more educated about what you want. Once you know what kind of car you want, do some research on its price and do not let salespeople make you offers that do not correspond to the average price.
Set aside a large block of time to spend at each dealership. Don’t go car shopping if you’re pressed for time. Making time for a whole afternoon may be the best. If you have no time left, you can restart the negotiation another day.
Try to avoid showing up at the dealership in an expensive car. No matter how good you are at negotiating, they will reject any lower offers you put forth. If you are going to trade in that nice car, then that is the only reason you would bring it with you.
Get the cost on the car in stone before you discuss trade-ins, or any other monetary exchanges. These monetary exchanges should reduce your cost. You can get the best price this way.
Test driving a car is essential. While you may know which car you want, a test is imperative. There is no substitute for the actual experience of driving the car. You may notice trouble with the brakes, misfiring, sticking or slipping gears, or a number of other factors that the dealer didn’t tell you about.
Take advantage of online resources for car buyers. You’ll find almost any and every vehicle online. While online, learn everything about the car of your choice before visiting a dealer. You can find out as much information as you would like to know by searching online.
When you want to shop for cars, you need to have a friend with you that has little interest in your car purchase. They will be able to help you avoid mistakes, such as making an emotional decision. Ask them ahead of time to keep their eyes and ears open for any flaws that they might notice as well.
Research properly when you want to buy a car that is used. There are online sources that can give you good values. In order to find out the worth of a car, feel free to use NADA or Kelly Blue Book. If the dealer tries to get more than what those sources say, walk away.
Try to get all of the prices possible for the car that you want. There are different prices in different zip codes, so you might find a much better deal in a nearby city. Online pricing information gives you a clearer picture about where you should look for your next vehicle.
Don’t buy a new model of car immediately upon its release. Otherwise you will pay a very high price for the car. Once the hype dies down after a few months, then make your move.
Figure out what the service department does for dealers you want to visit with. Visit the service department and talk to some of their current customers. Try calling the department to ask a question that you already know the answer to. Select a dealer that contains knowledgeable staff members so that you can ensure they are competent and can answer your questions.
If your salesman consults with the manager and then they come back, they can go lower. Provide another counter-offer and when that is given to their manager, you’ll know what the lowest is. They want the deal to be done quickly, so they should be at their lowest price at that point.
Look for potential rebates before looking for a car. Dealerships offer rebates as incentives to sell cars fast. Dealerships that are less ethical will not mention these rebates and will sell you the car without you knowing about them.
Don’t overdress when going to a car dealership. You may have a hard time getting a good price if you give the appearance of having money to burn.
Don’t let a salesman get one over on you. Keep in mind that their friendly behavior is only an act. Don’t think that they’re being friendly because they are thinking of your best interest. Be skeptical at all times.
Don’t avoid or rush things when you buy a car. The dealers make you feel like you have to buy right now. Do not let this sway you. There’s a 90% chance that the “special promotion” will remain when you’re ready to buy.
Keep your mind open when it comes to the make and model of automobile you want. Big names have the models you want. If you want a compact car, you should look into getting a Toyota Corolla, a Honda Civic or a Ford Focus. Auto Repair Tips For Your Immediate Use
November 9, 2014
Car repairs are a real pain. You either spend lots of money on having mechanics make repairs or you spend all your energy and time doing it by yourself. Both methods can be stressful to use, but you’ll have a lot easier time when doing auto repairs once you’ve read this article.
Do not let a mechanic work on your vehicle unless they are A.S.E. certified. The basis of this certification is that your mechanic has over two years of experience and they have passed appropriate testing. This is a good way of finding a qualified mechanic who will care about doing a good job so they can keep their certification.
Buy a good battery charger to keep in the car. This is a common cause of breakdowns, and carrying a charger helps other drivers as well as yourself. Learn to locate the points where you should connect the battery charger on your car.
Know what the repair is going to cost you before handing over your keys. If you are unclear about certain things, clarification is needed before repairs are started. If you do not communicate with your mechanic, you might be surprised with additional fees once you receive your bill.
You don’t need to call someone to repair your car each time you’re experiencing trouble. You can easily learn to perform small repairs yourself. You can take your chances by going on the Internet to find some information to see if you can locate the problem. If it’s easy, you can repair the problem yourself, and save money too.
You need to see if the mechanic has ever done work on the exact same type of car before. If so, they will probably know what must be done to help your car work again.
Each time you get your vehicle repaired, no matter what the reason, be sure you have a record of it. If further issues develop later, the mechanic may want to see the historical documentation of what has already been done. These records will make identifying issues much easier to diagnose and will save you time and money.
Be wary of unscrupulous mechanics who make unnecessary repairs to your vehicle. A good mechanic should let you know if they noticed parts that are starting to get worn down and will need to be replaced soon but they should not replace the part without your approval. Don’t return to mechanics that do unnecessary repairs.
Remember that getting OEM parts is important. This means that they’ve come directly from the manufacturer. Generic may be cheaper, but you don’t know the quality of these parts as time goes on. What saves you a bit of money in the short term, may end up costing you dearly in the long term.
Look out for obvious “red flags” when dealing with a new auto repair company. If you are being talked to in circles and your questions aren’t answered, then you will want to go elsewhere. You need to be able to trust the person doing your repairs, so don’t be afraid to choose another one.
Auto repair isn’t always fun, but you can do things to make repairs smoother. You will get better prices and service if you apply the tips you just read. Do not neglect the importance of getting quality repairs for your vehicle.
Look At These Tips For Buying A Car
November 2, 2014
There is nothing like the stress and frustration that comes with shopping for a car. It’s difficult to know which features are truly important and which are a waste of your money. Use this article as a guideline to help you decide what to consider when you go out and get your next car.
Try to stay in control of the negotiations with your salesperson. Don’t let them talk you into a vehicle that is out of your price range. A lot of people purchase a sports car solely because the dealer talked them into it. Remember that the salesperson’s goal is to earn a good commission, so he or she benefits when you are convinced to purchase a pricier vehicle.
If you pay the sticker price, you are basically throwing money at the dealer. You shouldn’t ever have to buy a car at its advertised price. These prices are purposefully high in order to give some money to play around with in order to make a deal.
Make sure that you have your loan in place beforehand. The length of time it takes to buy a car often hinges on whether they have to find financing for you or not. Already having a loan will speed up the whole process.
Take care of financing before you get to the dealer. Start with your local bank for options. Doing this often nets you interest rates better than dealers would give, and you also get to shop knowing what your budget is for a new vehicle.
Discuss cars with people in your life that you trust. How satisfied are they with their vehicles? Do they wish they’d gotten another one? Have they heard of any other vehicles that might be better? Asking questions of others is a simple, effective way to start choosing your next vehicle.
When you wish to purchase a new car, create a budget prior to going out. When car shopping, never go over your maximum budget regardless of what words come out of the dealers mouth. Keep in mind that you will be having to pay off your car, not the dealer.
If you are the type of person who can’t resist the pressure of buying a car, then don’t go shopping by yourself. A friend can provide relief and reduce the amount of stress that you face. You need to let your partner know about your budget and your needs before you hit a dealership.
It can take a lot of time and effort to buy a new car. By doing just a little reasearch you will be well aware of how to get the best deal. There are several online sites that consolidate information from various private owners and dealerships so that you can conduct a side-by-side comparison shopping of different vehicles and their amenities and asking price. These sites can be a great asset when looking for great value.
Bring a friend along during the car-buying process — preferably someone who has nothing to gain or lose from your purchase. They will be able to help you avoid mistakes, such as making an emotional decision. Ask them to come with you throughout the test drive to point out problems.
Used car deals can often be found online. This can give you the advantage of convenience. Look in classifieds, on Craigslist, and on eBay. Using this technique will allow you to save time and the headache generally associated with car buying.
Always do your research when buying a used car. It is not hard to find out what the model you want is worth. You could use NADA or Kelly Blue Book to know how much a car is. If there is a dealer selling cars at too high of a price, search other places.
If you know what kind of car you want, call the lot and ask if they have it. If you visit the dealership without doing that, the salesperson will try to sell you any car that is on the lot. You’ll just be wasting your time if they don’t have the car that you want. You should call ahead.
Don’t sign any as-is warranty for a used car. Doing so is a recipe for disaster. At minimum, a dealer should provide you with a warranty of 30-90 days upon purchasing any vehicle. If something malfunctions after you drive the car off into the sunset, you’re responsible.
Review car pricing locally and in other areas. Sometimes, nearby cities will provide you with a significant discount. Look at the trends in prices online so you can figure out who has the best deal.
Learn about the service departments of dealerships you are planning on visiting. Make inquiries to see if current customers are happy. Another step you should take is asking someone in the service department for advice on a issue that you have already found the answer to. You should pick the dealer that has the best answer.
Now you know what to search for when purchasing a car. Just find out more by researching. Buy when you’re comfortable to ensure a great purchase.
Tips To Get Your Car Fixed Right The First Time
October 25, 2014
Your car is probably one of your most important possessions, since you depend on it to get you to and from work (among other places). You might be uneducated about cars, but are looking to learn more about them. If that’s what you want, read on to learn about simple maintenance.
Never underestimate the value of keeping an emergency car kit handy. A battery charger, tire changing tools and an extra can of gas are just a few of the items to have on hand. Blankets may be added, some batteries and a flashlight for if you have a trouble with your car at night.
Be aware of all of the costs prior to handing your keys over to the mechanic. If you don’t understand something, clarify your concerns with the mechanic or service adviser before they work on the car. You don’t want to be surprised by unexpected charges.
Speak with a repair shop’s technician if you wish to figure out what kinds of cars they’ve worked on in the past. If they have experience with your type of car, they are more likely able to correctly diagnose and fix the problems your vehicle is having.
Look out for any mechanics that add unnecessary repairs. A trustworthy mechanic should inform you about parts that are becoming worn and will need replacement in the near future, but no parts should be replaced without first getting your approval. If you notice a mechanic has made unnecessary repairs to your vehicle, do not go to the same one next time.
Be on the lookout for clear indications that a mechanic is not the right one for the job. When they don’t listen to what you say or talk to you in circles, they’re probably a scammer. Only choose someone you trust.
Make sure any mechanic you hire knows about your particular vehicle. Cars can differ significantly, even if the general mechanical principles are the same. A luxury SUV is quite different from a hybrid Prius, for example. The safe route is to pay a little more to have a dealer’s specialized techs work on the car.
You should have basic tools in your car at all times. You’re going to need to have some tire changing tools in this kit at the very least. You will need to get a lug wrench and a jack if you don’t already have them. Also have a few tools like a socket set, both a regular and Phillips head screwdriver, a crescent wrench and a torque wrench. Don’t buy inexpensive tools. Solid and sturdy tools are ideal so you don’t have to worry about them malfunctioning.
Before you settle on a mechanic, inquire about their rates and prices. Make sure you’re asking questions if you’re not sure about the shop’s rates. How will you be billed? Some stores are able to give you an estimate for how long they’ll keep your car. Simple repairs could be an all-day affair.
Look at flashing lights on your dashboard and learn what each one signifies. Paying attention to these warnings is always in your best interest. Don’t ignore any dashboard lights that come on, as the problem may grow worse if it’s ignored.
Make sure that you clean your car in the winter as well. Winter is actually the season when your car’s exterior gets the most damage. Sand, salt, and other debris are going to be working hard towards making your vehicle start to rust. Your car should be dried thoroughly before getting back on the road again.
Each time you fill up with petrol, take the time to look at your tire pressures. Check your tires regularly for embedded items and for uneven wear patterns. If you spot an issue, don’t put off getting it repaired. The outcome of driving on damaged tires can be fatal.
You might want to get all problems checked out no matter how small you think it is. A small problem can become a big one if it is left unchecked.
Believe it or not, there are a few shady auto repair businesses that will take your newer tires and switch them with older tires. They sell your tires and make a profit off your ignorance. Before you go in, place some chalk on your tires to mark them up. This can help you see if your tires have been properly rotated or switched out for older tires.
Don’t allow auto mechanics to persuade you that getting an engine flushed is normal maintenance. This is a costly service and not something that is typically done during the course of normal maintenance.
Do not believe claims that any auto part will last for a lifetime. When mechanics use this claim, they are usually just trying to get you to spend more money unnecessarily. One example is that some vehicles say their transmission fluid will last a lifetime. Though the change time on transmission fluid is very long, it should be swapped every 80,000 miles.
As mentioned earlier, it is important to take good care of your vehicle. By learning the simplest maintenance, such as performing your own oil changes, you can save a lot of cash. Use the information you’ve learned for the next time you find your car is in need of repair.

Ask for referrals to find a great mechanic. Ask the people you know for their recommendations. You can inquire about price, work quality and overall satisfaction. People will let you know how their experience went.
Take the time to read your car manual and know the basics of how your car works. Do not hesitate to let your mechanic know about what you learned from the owner’s manual. You can find the information you need to know in your owner’s manual.
If your headlights don’t seem very bright, check them to see if they are clean. Sometimes the road’s greasy residue can get on a light and reduce the output of light. Before taking your car into the mechanic for this, try giving the headlights a good cleaning first.
Even if you think your vehicle just has a minor issue, it pays to get it looked at just the same. A small problem can become a big one if it is left unchecked.
Don’t try to diagnose and fix complex automotive issues. Keep in mind that you aren’t an expert. It may be a problem that’s harder to fix than you think. Leave the diagnosing to your auto repair shop. Be knowledgeable about the details, but let the repair shop make the diagnosis.
Don’t believe a mechanic who tries to tell you that you need to get your engine flushed as a part of a routine maintenance. This service is costly, and it is not really needed unless you haven’t been taking good care of your engine.
The acronym OM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. Remember this when you have need to have parts on your vehicle replaced. When you tell your mechanic that OEM parts are what you want, you sound like you have some knowledge. This will make it less likely that the mechanic will attempt to install parts that have been previously used.
If you receive a repair estimate in excess of a couple of hundred dollars, get things in writing. Getting the estimate in writing can help you if ever you have to complain about the mechanic. An unscrupulous mechanic is less likely to alter your estimate after the fact, when you each have an original copy.
If you find a repair shop that does good work, make sure to go to them for all your car troubles. One of the ways to save money on car repairs is to establish a relationship with a good mechanic. You might also receive a loyalty discount.
If you know the basics, there is no need to fear having car performance issues. You can educate yourself and learn to fix many things yourself. Make sure you think about what you’ve read when your car gives you problems again.
Fiat Avventura – A Brand-new Crossover from Fiat
September 29, 2014
Fiat cars have had a great run in India, during the times when Premier Padmini ruled the roads here. The Premier Automobiles had built the Padmini Cars under the license from Fiat and for all practical purposes; these cars were known simply as Fiat. The Fiat cars were considered as status symbol and they had a premium value over the Ambassador cars in India. However, when Maruti came into the scene, Fiat cars were slowly pushed into oblivion.
Nevertheless, the Italian carmaker never gave up its interests in India. As a result, Fiat made a comeback of a sort with its hatchback Punto and Sedan Linea. Both these cars were well received by the Indian car buyers, which prompted the company to introduce a new and batter version of the Punto recently. The success of these cars has given Fiat enough reason to invest more in India and hence, it will soon introduce Fiat Avventura a crossover car in India.
The Avventura was first showcased in the 2014 edition of the Indian Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year. It is based on a brand-new global concept envisaged by the Italian maker. Avventura is based on the same platform as the Punto, but with entirely different looks and appeal. All that Fiat has done is to tweak the design language of the Punto a bit to give it a more SUV-ish look and feel.
Accordingly, the production version of the Avventura will look almost similar to its concept look – that of a rugged Punto. The latest avatar will be clad in plastic all along its lower body. Apart from this, the new car will come with a tail-mounted spare wheel, which adds to the rough and tough look of the car. It is expected that the Avventura would be under four-meter in length, so that it can enjoy the benefits of duty cuts.
Though the car will look entirely different from Punto on the outside, it will be more or less similar to the hatchback on the interior, though with ample modifications. The instrument panel too, will be akin to that of Punto, but with features like climate control, cruise control, 2-DIN music system and a compass included.
Powering the Avventura will be a 1.4-litre T-Jet 115 PS and 204 Nm petrol engine or a 1.3-litre Multijet 95 PS and 209 Nm diesel engine. Both will come with a six-speed manual transmission gearbox. Expected to be available at a price range of 5.3 lakh to eight lakh rupees, the Avventura could be making its entry on Indian roads in November, just in time for festivities.
Once launched, it will be fighting with the like so of Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross among others.
